Raindrop Therapy Technique

What Oils are used

Other Uses for the Oils in the RD
Complementing Therapies

What is the Raindrop Therapy Technique?

Raindrop technique originated in the 1980's from the research of D. Gary Young working with a Lakota medicine man named Wallace Black Elk. It integrates massage, utilizing the power of essential oils in bringing the body into structural and electrical alignment

Raindrop Technique is based on the theory that many types of scoliosis and spinal misalignments are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine. These pathogens create inflammation, which in turn, contorts and disfigures the spinal column

Raindrop Technique uses a sequence of highly antimicrobial essential oils designed to simultaneously reduce inflammation and kill the viral agents (from the Essential Oil Desk Reference

My First Experience With This Technique

I'll never forget the first time I used this technique on Sharon Castle. She was visiting her sister here in Indianapolis and decided to get a massage while she was here. She brought the oils used in the Raindrop Technique with her to her appointment and asked if I minded applying the oils along her spine first.

She told me "the oils used in the technique would totally relax the muscles along her spine by just lightly rubbing them in". I thought "yea, right". To my absolute amazement they did just that. After applying the third oil (oregano) her muscles were already beginning to relax. After applying the balance of the oils and then the heat pack for approximately 10 minutes I had to call Abby (a therapist that works with me) to feel the muscles along Sharon's spine. Abby could not believe that I had only applied the oils and had only "lightly rubbed in" the oils.

To this day, the Raindrop Therapy Technique never ceases to amaze my clients, Abby or myself.  Even though I know they are going to work the same way each and every time on each and every client it is still awesome to feel and see the clients body change just by using the oils. Incidentally, Abby nor myself, would consider getting worked on without the RDT!

So What Are These Amazing Oils?

The Raindrop Therapy Technique uses a sequence of highly anti-microbial essential oils in order to reduce inflammation. The nine oils are dispensed like drops of rain from about six inches above the back, massaged along the spine and over the rest of the back. A hot compress is then applied to facilitate absorption of the oils and relax the muscles.

The therapeutic grade essential oils used in the Raindrop Technique Session are:

1- Valor - used to balance. Valor is the most important oil used in this application because it works on both physical and emotional levels, supporting the physical and energy alignment of the body. The key to using this oil is patience. Once the frequencies begin to balance, a structural alignment can begin to occur. Valor is applied to the soles of the feet and on the shoulders. Valor is nicknamed "chiropractor in a bottle".

Valor is a blend of the following oils:
Rosewood
- this oil is soothing, creates elasticity, and helps the skin rid itself of irritations and problems such as candida. It is anti-infectious, antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral, and anti-parasitic.
Blue Tansy- European research shows that it works as an antihistamine, anti-inflammatory, and stimulant for the thymus gland reducing dermatitis, arthritis, sciatica, tuberculosis and allergies.
Frankincense- high is sesquiterpenes, it helps stimulate the limbic part of the brain, which elevates the mind, helping overcome stress and despair.
Spruce-helps to open and release emotional blocks, bringing about a feeling of balance and grounding. Anti-infectious, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory

2- Thyme is documented to be highly antimicrobial. This essential oil easily penetrates the skin and travels throughout the body.

3- Oregano has an antimicrobial action even more aggressive than thyme. It also has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties.

4- Basil has antispasmodic properties that relax muscles. It is also anti-inflammatory and antibacterial.

5- Wintergreen/Birch are anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain relieving) due to their high methyl salicylate content. These essential oils are excellent for bones.

6- Cypress improves circulation and relieves spasms and swelling. Cypress also helps heal damaged tissue.

7- Marjoram is antispasmodic and helps relax muscles.

8- Peppermint has pain killing properties. It is also antimicrobial, working synergistically with other oils to enhance their activity. Peppermint also stimulates circulation and cools inflamed tissue.

9- Aroma Siez is a highly antispasmodic blend of essential oils that helps relax sore, tense, or inflamed muscles. This blend consists of:
Basil
(see above)
Cypress (see above)
Marjoram
(see above)
Lavender
-antiseptic, analgesic, anti-tumoral, anticonvulsant, sedative, anti-inflammatory. Lavender is a universal oil with many different applications. It may help arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, convulsions, depression, earaches, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, hives, insect bites, nervous tension, respiratory infection and rheumatism.
Peppermint

Other uses for some of the oils used in the Raindrop Technique

The oils used in RT alone have many different applications.

Clients, Abby and myself have experienced some pretty amazing results by using just the oils that are included in the RD Technique.

I start my day with a chiropractic adjustment by using Valor. I place a few drops on the bottom of each foot first thing in the morning after my shower. Valor really does balance and open up the energy pathways of the body. I have proven this over and over again through muscle balancing!

Because I am a deep tissue massage therapist, occasionally my elbows and shoulders become inflamed. Wintergreen provides wonderful relief for me.

Especially during the cold and flu season, clients will come in with an upper respiratory condition such as Bronchitis or a chest cold.

The first thing I do is place a drop of Peppermint oil in the palm of their hand, have them rub their hands together and make a cup and inhale this powerful oil through their nose. They immediately can breathe again.

As they are doing this, I apply Thyme, Oregano and Cypress to their chest. I then use the C 64 tuning fork on their sternum. The vibrations of this tuning fork penetrates deep into the chest cavity assisting the oils in the breaking up of congestion.

After using the tuning fork on different locations of the chest, I then apply a moist heat pack to their chest to drive the oils even further into their lungs.  Many clients will then get have sauna session to expedite the removal of toxins. Believe me, they leave feeling a lot better than they did when they came in.

Visit a doctors office for an upper respiratory condition and tell me you leave feeling better. You leave with a prescription to put more drugs into your already over toxic body.

There are a tremendous amount of ways, including essential oils, that you can help your body naturally without the use of drugs. The question is, WILL YOU?

If you are a potential client reading this, I encourage you to seriously consider RT or one of the ways in which this technique can be customized for specific conditions. Believe me, you'll be as amazed with the results as I am each and every time I use it.

I simply cannot say too much about the Raindrop Technique or the superior grade of therapeutic grade oils used in it's application.

A word of caution: The oils used in this technique are extremely high quality therapeutic grade oils. Please do not try to substitute inferior grades of essential oils and think this technique will work, it won't.
